Mission of Role
To support the company payroll function within APAC region
To correspond with outsourced payroll providers for the provision of payroll services
To work closely with GBS Finance teams and Controlling team to ensure payroll transactions are accurately represented in the company financial statements
Proactively shares messages with payroll leaders and other stakeholders
To ensure payroll queries and requests from Employees, Auditors and Tax authorities are responded satisfactorily in a timely manner
Role Responsibilities
APAC Region payroll:
Manage payroll operations for APAC offices where Suntory Global Spirits has an employee base, with primary focus on the India market
Support and manage payroll operations for other APAC markets as assigned, based on business and team requirements
Be willing to learn and take on payroll responsibilities for new markets within the APAC region when required
Act as backup for other Payroll team members and serve as alternate point of contact for outsourced APAC payroll providers
Keep abreast of payroll regulatory and statutory changes across APAC countries
Support monthly APAC payroll accounting and reconciliation processes
Support annual statutory, financial and internal/external audit exercises by preparing payroll-related schedules, reconciliations and required documentation
Communicate effectively and manage relationships with outsourced payroll providers across the region
Act as the conduit for employee payroll queries requiring coordination with payroll vendors/providers
Assist in ad-hoc payroll-related projects and regional initiatives as required
Qualifications
At least 4 years of payroll experience gained in an MNC managing a full payroll cycle
Has knowledge of payroll accounting entries
Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with people from all levels
Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Excel
Ability to learn quickly, on payroll legislation across all APAC countries where SGS has an employee base
Prior exposure to Asia Pacific country’s payroll
Knowledge of using Salesforce is a plus
Knowledge of Chinese language is a plus
