UI/UX Designer Intern

About the Role
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented UI/UX Designer Intern to join our team and work on the user interface and user experience of our simulation software.
The role will involve updating and improving existing UI elements, as well as designing new UI screens and interfaces for upcoming features and modules. You will work closely with the development team to ensure that the designs are visually consistent, intuitive, and practical to implement within the simulation.
Responsibilities
- Review and improve the existing UI of the simulation.
- Design new UI screens, menus, panels, pop-ups, HUDs, and other interface elements based on project requirements.
- Create wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity UI designs.
- Maintain a consistent visual style across different screens and modules.
- Improve the overall usability and user experience of the simulation.
- Work with developers to ensure UI designs are technically feasible and implemented accurately.
- Make design revisions based on feedback from the development team.
- Create and maintain reusable UI components and design elements where required.
- Ensure that UI layouts work well across different screen resolutions and aspect ratios.
- Assist in developing UI/UX guidelines and maintaining design consistency throughout the project.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of UI/UX design principles.
- Proficiency in at least one UI design tool such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar software.
- Understanding of layout, typography, spacing, color, visual hierarchy, and usability.
- Ability to create clean and organized UI designs.
- Ability to understand requirements and convert them into practical UI solutions.
- Good communication and willingness to collaborate with developers.
- Attention to detail and willingness to iterate based on feedback.
Preferred / Bonus Skills
- Experience designing UI for games, simulations, or interactive applications.
- Basic understanding of Unity UI and how UI is implemented in a game engine.
- Familiarity with Unity's Canvas, UI components, and responsive layouts.
- Basic knowledge of interaction design and user flows.
- Experience creating UI prototypes or interactive prototypes in Figma.
- A portfolio or examples of previous UI/UX work.
What You Will Work On
During the internship, you may work on:
- Updating the existing simulation UI.
- Designing new screens and menus for upcoming features.
- Dashboard and information panels.
- Simulation HUDs and in-session interfaces.
- Buttons, icons, indicators, and interactive elements.
- Module selection and navigation interfaces.
- Reports, results, and performance screens.
- Pop-ups, notifications, and instructional interfaces.
- Improving existing user flows and overall usability
