Job Purpose
To effectively plan, coordinate, and monitor production activities to ensure timely completion of production targets while optimizing manpower, materials, machine capacity, and production resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer requirements and sales orders.
- Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Stores, Quality, Maintenance, and Dispatch teams to ensure smooth production flow.
- Monitor production progress against the planned schedule and take corrective actions for deviations.
- Ensure availability of raw materials, consumables, manpower, and machine capacity as per the production plan.
- Prepare and maintain production schedules, work orders, and planning reports.
- Monitor machine loading and capacity utilization to achieve optimum production efficiency.
- Coordinate with the Stores/Purchase team for timely availability of required raw materials.
- Track Work-in-Progress (WIP) and ensure timely movement of materials between processes.
- Analyze production delays, bottlenecks, downtime, and capacity constraints and recommend solutions.
- Maintain accurate production planning and inventory-related data in ERP/MIS systems.
- Prepare daily production reports, plan-vs-actual reports, and management dashboards.
- Coordinate with the Quality team to ensure production schedules are aligned with inspection and quality requirements.
- Support production teams in achieving daily and monthly targets while minimizing rejection, rework, and wastage.
- Review customer priorities and revise production schedules whenever required.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to avoid excess or shortage of materials.
- Participate in production review meetings and provide updates on plan achievement and pending orders.
- Identify opportunities for improving production planning, productivity, and resource utilization.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in Production Planning & Control (PPC) in a manufacturing industry.
- Experience in ERP/MRP systems and MS Excel is preferred.
- Good knowledge of production processes, material planning, inventory control, and capacity planning.
