Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Executive to support engineering design, project execution, procurement coordination, vendor management, and site activities. The candidate will work closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to ensure successful completion of projects while maintaining quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Roles and ResponsibilitiesElectrical & Instrumentation Engineering
- Perform detailed engineering and design activities for Electrical & Instrumentation systems.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including:
- Instrument Lists
- Instrument Index
- Wiring Diagrams
- Loop Diagrams
- Cable Schedules
- Cable Tray Layouts
- Block Diagrams
- Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
- P&ID Drawings
- Control Philosophy Documents
- Hook-up Drawings
- Junction Box Schedules
- Review and implement client specifications and project requirements.
- Ensure all designs comply with project standards, codes, statutory requirements, and industry best practices.
Equipment Selection & Technical Evaluation
- Select suitable electrical and instrumentation equipment based on project requirements.
- Selection and sizing of:
- Electrical cables
- Motors
- Protection devices
- Sensors and transmitters
- Field instruments
- Control panels
- Switchgear components
- Review technical proposals and quotations from vendors.
- Evaluate technical specifications and recommend appropriate equipment for procurement.
- Support commercial and procurement teams in technical clarifications.
Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with electrical and instrumentation vendors throughout project execution.
- Review vendor deliverables including:
- Drawings
- Datasheets
- Calculations
- Technical reports
- Ensure vendor compliance with project requirements and delivery schedules.
- Resolve technical issues with suppliers and vendors.
PLC / DCS Systems
- Work with industrial automation systems including:
- Siemens PLC
- Allen Bradley PLC
- DeltaV DCS
- SCADA Systems
- Support control system design and implementation.
- Assist in I/O list preparation and control philosophy development.
- Coordinate with automation teams during system integration.
Inspection, Testing & Site Activities
- Conduct inspections of:
- Electrical panels
- Instrument systems
- Cabling systems
- Skid-mounted equipment
- Participate in and witness:
- Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
- Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
- Support site installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and power turn-on activities.
- Monitor site execution activities and ensure quality standards are maintained.
Documentation & Compliance
- Review technical documentation provided by clients.
- Prepare technical reports and engineering documents.
- Ensure all work follows:
- Company quality standards
- Safety standards
- Statutory requirements
- Regulatory guidelines
- Maintain complete project records and engineering documentation.
Coordination & Team Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Project Managers
- Mechanical Engineers
- Production Team
- Site Team
- Procurement Team
- Customers and Clients
- Participate in inter-disciplinary engineering coordination meetings.
- Support project execution activities within timelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering
Experience
- Minimum 3–6 years of relevant experience in Electrical & Instrumentation engineering, project execution, or industrial automation.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of process instrumentation and control systems
- Knowledge of power distribution systems
- Knowledge of hazardous/explosive area requirements
- Hands-on experience in AutoCAD
- Good working knowledge of MS Office applications
- Knowledge of PLC/DCS systems
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and P&IDs
