Role Description:
A Hostess is responsible for creating a welcoming and positive first impression for guests by greeting, seating, and assisting them throughout their dining experience. The Hostess manages reservations, coordinates table seating, and ensures smooth front-of-house operations while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests warmly upon arrival and thank them upon departure
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments efficiently
- Escort guests to their tables and present menus
- Provide accurate wait time estimates during peak hours
- Coordinate seating arrangements to balance server workload
- Answer phone calls and handle customer inquiries professionally
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception and waiting area
- Assist guests with special requests and accommodate preferences whenever possible
- Communicate effectively with servers and restaurant staff to ensure smooth service
- Support front-of-house operations during busy periods
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of restaurant operations and guest service
- Good phone etiquette and grooming standards
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Prior hospitality or customer service experience preferred
