The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing electrical installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting activities to ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company policies. The role involves supervising electricians and technicians, coordinating daily work schedules, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring the reliable operation of electrical systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of electricians and electrical technicians.
- Plan, assign, and monitor electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and company procedures.
- Inspect completed work to verify quality and adherence to project specifications.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults and equipment failures.
- Review electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other departments.
- Monitor project progress and ensure work is completed within schedule and budget.
- Conduct toolbox talks and enforce workplace health and safety practices.
- Maintain records of maintenance, inspections, and work completed.
- Manage inventory of electrical materials, tools, and equipment.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate electrical staff to improve performance and skills.
- Assist in planning preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Prepare reports on maintenance activities, project status, and safety compliance.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
- Valid electrical license or certification (where required).
- 5–10 years of experience in electrical installation, maintenance, or construction, including supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, motors, transformers, switchgear, and control systems.
- Familiarity with relevant electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in reading electrical drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience using maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications is an advantage.
