Position Overview
The Head – EV Business & Mobility (EVBM) will be responsible for developing, managing, and expanding the organization's Electric Vehicle (EV) and sustainable mobility business.
The role will lead the complete EV business lifecycle, including business development, client acquisition, EV fleet deployment, charging infrastructure, strategic partnerships, operations, financial performance, and expansion.
The incumbent will play a key role in transforming and growing the company's mobility business by identifying new opportunities in corporate employee transportation, last-mile mobility, fleet electrification, and other emerging EV-based transportation solutions.
Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Business Strategy & Growth
- Develop and implement the overall EV business strategy and growth roadmap.
- Identify new business opportunities in EV mobility, corporate transportation, employee transportation, last-mile connectivity, and fleet electrification.
- Develop short-term and long-term business expansion plans.
- Drive revenue growth and market penetration in identified geographies.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, market trends, and business models in the EV sector.
- Prepare annual business plans, budgets, and growth projections.
2. Business Development & Client Acquisition
- Lead the Business Development team for acquiring new clients and contracts.
- Build relationships with corporates, IT companies, industrial organizations, government bodies, and other potential customers.
- Identify RFPs, tenders, and new business opportunities related to EV and mobility services.
- Lead commercial discussions, proposal submissions, negotiations, and contract closures.
- Develop customized EV mobility solutions for clients.
- Maintain strong relationships with key customers and ensure business retention and expansion.
3. EV Fleet Management
- Plan and manage the deployment of Electric Vehicle fleets.
- Coordinate with vehicle OEMs, leasing companies, fleet partners, and vendors.
- Ensure optimum vehicle utilization and operational efficiency.
- Monitor fleet performance, vehicle availability, maintenance, and productivity.
- Develop strategies for replacement and conversion of conventional fleets into EV fleets.
- Ensure smooth integration of EVs into existing employee transportation operations.
4. Charging Infrastructure Management
- Develop and implement EV charging infrastructure strategy.
- Identify suitable locations for charging stations.
- Coordinate with charging infrastructure providers and technology partners.
- Ensure availability and optimum utilization of charging facilities.
- Monitor charging costs and energy consumption.
- Explore partnerships for captive and commercial charging infrastructure.
5. Operations Management
- Ensure efficient day-to-day EV business operations.
- Coordinate with Operations, Fleet, Transport, Maintenance, and Technology teams.
- Establish SOPs for EV operations, charging, maintenance, and emergency management.
- Monitor operational KPIs and service delivery standards.
- Ensure high vehicle availability and customer satisfaction.
- Address operational challenges and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
6. Financial & P&L Management
- Own the profitability and financial performance of the EV business.
- Prepare business budgets, revenue forecasts, and cost structures.
- Monitor revenue, operating costs, margins, and profitability.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Ensure commercial viability of all EV projects.
- Develop pricing strategies and business models for sustainable growth.
7. Strategic Partnerships
- Develop relationships with EV OEMs and vehicle manufacturers.
- Build partnerships with charging infrastructure providers.
- Coordinate with financial institutions, leasing companies, and investors.
- Develop strategic alliances with technology companies and mobility partners.
- Evaluate new partnership opportunities to strengthen the EV ecosystem.
8. Team Leadership
- Build and lead a high-performing EV Business team.
- Manage Business Development, Operations, Infrastructure, and Project teams.
- Define KPIs and performance objectives for team members.
- Provide leadership, training, and guidance to the team.
- Create a performance-driven and growth-oriented work culture.
9. Government & Regulatory Compliance
- Stay updated with government policies and regulations related to Electric Vehicles.
- Identify available EV subsidies, incentives, and government schemes.
- Ensure compliance with transport, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with government authorities and regulatory bodies wherever required.
10. Technology & Innovation
- Identify new technologies and innovations in the EV and mobility sector.
- Work with technology teams for fleet management systems and digital mobility platforms.
- Promote the use of data analytics for fleet optimization.
- Explore smart mobility, connected vehicles, AI-based fleet management, and automation solutions.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
The performance of the Head – EVBM will be measured based on:
- New business revenue generated.

Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Transportation, Automobile, or related field.
- MBA / PGDM in Business Management, Strategy, Operations, or Marketing will be preferred.
Experience Required
- Minimum 10–15 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in Electric Vehicles, Mobility, Transportation, Fleet Management, Automobile, Logistics, or Employee Transportation Services.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership or senior management experience preferred.
- Strong experience in Business Development and P&L management.
