Job Summary
The Purchase Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, products, and services required by the organization. The role ensures cost-effective procurement, timely delivery, quality compliance, and strong supplier relationships while maintaining inventory levels and supporting business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Management
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies and policies.
- Source suppliers and obtain competitive quotations.
- Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms.
- Process purchase orders and monitor order fulfillment.
- Supplier Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews.
- Identify alternative vendors to reduce supply risks.
- Cost Control & Budget Management
- Analyze market trends and pricing fluctuations.
- Achieve cost savings through strategic sourcing and negotiations.
- Monitor procurement budgets and spending.
- Inventory & Supply Planning
- Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Prevent stock shortages and excess inventory.
- Monitor inventory turnover and reorder points.
- Quality & Compliance
- Ensure purchased materials meet company quality standards.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Resolve supplier quality issues and delivery discrepancies.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare procurement reports, purchase analyses, and supplier evaluations.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and contracts.
- Track key procurement KPIs such as cost savings, lead times, and supplier performance.
