Job Description – Vice Principal

The Vice Principal shall assist the Principal in providing academic, administrative, and institutional leadership to ensure the effective functioning of the College. The incumbent shall be responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of academic programs, student services, administrative systems, admissions, and statutory compliance. In the absence of the Principal, the Vice Principal shall discharge the duties and responsibilities of the Principal as delegated by the Management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Academic Leadership
● Assist the Principal in planning, implementing, and monitoring academic policies, curriculum delivery, and quality enhancement initiatives.
● Coordinate with Heads of Departments and faculty members to ensure effective teaching-learning processes and attainment of academic outcomes.
● Monitor faculty performance, student progression, attendance, and academic achievements.
● Prepare and supervise the academic calendar, class timetables, workload allocation, and internal assessment schedules.
● Ensure the smooth conduct of Internal Assessments, University Examinations, practical examinations, and evaluation processes.
● Organize faculty development programmes, workshops, seminars, orientation
programmes, and training initiatives.
2. Administration and Institutional Governance
● Assist the Principal in the day-to-day administration and overall management of the College.
● Supervise administrative functions and ensure the efficient functioning of academic and support departments.
● Coordinate admission planning and actively participate in student outreach and admission mobilization initiatives to achieve the sanctioned intake.
● Ensure compliance with the regulations and requirements of the University, Government, UGC, Local Inspection Committee (LIC), and other statutory and regulatory authorities.
● Assist in organizing academic events, conferences, seminars, cultural programs, and extension activities.
● Supervise maintenance of institutional records, documentation, and official correspondence.
3. Student Development and Welfare
● Promote a disciplined, safe, inclusive, and student-friendly campus environment.
● Oversee student discipline, attendance, grievances, and welfare.
● Coordinate mentoring, counselling, remedial coaching, bridge courses, and career guidance initiatives.
● Encourage student participation in co-curricular, extracurricular, extension, sports, NSS, NCC, and community engagement activities.
● Monitor student progression, retention, placement support, and overall development.
4. Quality Assurance and Institutional Development
● Support IQAC initiatives and participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement processes.
● Assist in accreditation, ranking, and quality assessment activities, including NAAC and other institutional quality initiatives.
● Monitor departmental action plans and ensure timely implementation of institutional objectives.
● Analyse institutional performance indicators and recommend strategies for academic and administrative improvement.
5. Communication and Stakeholder Relations
● Serve as an effective link between the Management, Principal, faculty, students, parents, alumni, and other stakeholders.
● Liaise with University authorities, Government departments, regulatory bodies, and external agencies.
● Represent the College at meetings, academic forums, and official functions as delegated by the Principal.
● Foster a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and institutional excellence.
6. Qualifications
● Postgraduate Degree in Commerce with NET/KSET.
● Registration for a Ph.D. programme or possession of a Ph.D. degree will be preferred.
● Minimum 7–10 years of teaching experience in a recognized higher education institution, with administrative experience preferred.
● Sound knowledge of higher education regulations, University systems, and academic administration.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
