We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Accountant to lead our Finance & Accounts function. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting expertise along with experience in the shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, or maritime industry. The role will be responsible for financial reporting, statutory compliance, taxation, budgeting, and managing the overall accounting operations of the organization. Experience in shipping and logistics accounting, including freight-related transactions, vessel/port expenses, and regulatory compliance, will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting and finance operations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger.
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory requirements.
- Handle audits, financial controls, and regulatory reporting.
- Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and financial planning.
- Coordinate with banks, auditors, shipping lines, and regulatory authorities.
- Lead and mentor the accounts team.
- Prepare MIS reports and provide financial insights to management.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Requirements:
- CA / MBA Finance
- 10 –15 years of experience in Finance & Accounts.
- Minimum 10 years in a senior accounting role within Shipping, Logistics, Freight Forwarding, CHA, or Maritime sectors.
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, financial reporting, budgeting, and audits.
- Proficiency in Tally ERP, or similar ERP systems.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and financial analysis.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Compensation:
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and industry standards.
