Job Title: Medical Transcriptionist
Location : MAGJ Hospital, Mookkannoor
Job Summary:
The Medical Transcriptionist is responsible for listening to and accurately transcribing voice recordings of medical reports dictated by doctors and other healthcare professionals. This includes patient histories, discharge summaries, operative reports, diagnostic imaging studies, consultation reports, and other documents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Listen to recorded dictations by physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Accurately transcribe dictated reports into written format using a computer and transcription software.
- Review and edit drafts prepared by speech recognition software, making corrections as needed.
- Interpret medical terminology and abbreviations in transcriptions.
- Ensure documents are grammatically and clinically accurate.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to patient privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
- Submit completed documents within the required timeframe.
- Clarify inconsistencies and ensure completeness by consulting the appropriate medical personnel.
- Organize and store transcribed documents systematically.
- Stay updated with new medical terms, procedures, and transcription standards.
