Job Description: Production & Material Planning EngineerPosition Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Production & Material Planning Engineer to bridge the gap between procurement, shop floor operations, engineering, and project management. In this role, you will oversee material lifecycles, coordinate vendor sub-contracting activities, and ensure seamless production scheduling using advanced planning tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Material Requisition & Procurement Tracking: Raise Material Purchase Requests (PR) and closely track/review order statuses with the procurement/buyer team.
- Inventory & Dilution Management: Conduct regular inventory checks, monitor stock levels, and drive stock dilution strategies to optimize working capital.
- Shop Floor Execution & Clearance: Manage material feeding processes on the shop floor, secure GRIN (Goods Receipt Inspection Note) clearances, and handle positive material recalls as required.
- Vendor Sub-Contracting: Oversee vendor-out activities and sub-contracting operations (currently managed within the production scope).
- Job Scheduling & Monitoring: Develop, track, and monitor comprehensive job schedules using industry tools such as Primavera and MS Project.
- Equipment Estimation: Collaborate on the estimation and planning of required production equipment.
- Inter-Departmental Coordination: Act as the primary liaison for design coordination, as well as managing logistics and requirements for import and export items.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 3 to 6 years of experience in production planning, inventory control, and shop-floor coordination within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Hands-on experience with scheduling software (Primavera and MS Project).
- Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management workflows.
- Core Competencies: Strong cross-functional coordination, problem-solving abilities, vendor management, and a firm grasp of import/export logistics and shop-floor clearances.
