Job Summary: The QC Head is responsible for establishing, implementing, and
monitoring the complete quality control system for manufacturing of LV electrical
control panels, PCC, MCC, APFC, PLC, VFD, synchronization panels etc, and
related assemblies.
The role ensures compliance with customer specifications, IEC standards, safety
requirements, and continual improvement of manufacturing quality processes and
moving towards ZERO defect on the shop level.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Management System
Implement and maintain ISO 9001-2015 quality management system. Also ISO
14001 and ISO 45001across the plant
Develop SOPs, quality plans, inspection checklists, and testing procedures.
Ensure compliance with IEC 61439, and customer standards.
Handle internal and external quality audits, conduct Quality improvement sessions
with QC and Production engrs.
2. Incoming Material Inspection
Verify incoming electrical and mechanical materials as per BOM and approved
makes.
Inspect:
ACB/MCCB/MCB, Bus bars, CT/PT, Relays, Wiring accessories, Powder-coated
enclosures, Sheet metals etc
Coordinate with stores and purchase for rejection and vendor feedback. If any defect
is persisting then plan a visit to supplier, educate him and resolve the issue
3. In-Process Quality Control
Monitor fabrication, bus bar dressing, wiring, assembly, and labelling quality.
Ensure:
Correct torque tightening, Ferruling standards, Earthing continuity
Bus bar sleeving /colour coding, Conduct stage-wise inspections during production.
Publish VQR, along with purchase team
Should have thorough knowledge of powder quoting process and entire fabrication
process
4.Final Inspection & Testing
Lead FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) activities.
Verify:
Wiring continuity, HV test, Functional test, Interlock verification
Protection relay testing, PLC/VFD operation checks etc
Ensure test certificates are available.
5.Root Cause Analysis & CAPA
Analyse field failures, rejection trends, and customer complaints.
Implement:
RCA (Root Cause Analysis)
CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions)
8D / Why-Why analysis
Reduce rework and rejection cost, calculate the COPQ and release it.
Release PQDCSM monthly and take corrective actions on that. Viz.Increase FPY
and reduce DMI and towards ZERO customer complaints.
6.Team Management
Lead QC and testing engineers.
Train employees on quality standards and testing procedures.
Develop quality awareness across departments.
7.Documentation & Compliance
Maintain:
Test reports, Calibration records, NCR records, Inspection reports, Customer
approval documents, Ensure calibration of testing instruments.
8. Understanding of:
PCC/MCC/APFC/PLC/VFD etc. panels, Single line diagrams (SLD), GA drawings,
Control schematics, Bus bar calculations, Knowledge of IEC 61439 standards.
Familiarity with type test requirements.
He should have the knowledge of:
Quality Tools ,5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, CAPA
Kaizen, 7 QC Tools, Lean Manufacturing basics, Software Knowledge
ERP systems, MS Excel & reporting, AutoCAD drawing reading.
Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹72,000.00 per month
