Qualification
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Operation Theatre Technology (DOTT/B.Sc. Operation Theatre Technology) or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an OT Technician in a hospital or surgical center.
- Freshers with relevant clinical training or internship may be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the operation theatre before surgical procedures by ensuring cleanliness, sterility, and readiness of equipment.
- Arrange and sterilize surgical instruments, drapes, consumables, and other equipment required for surgeries.
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during surgical procedures.
- Ensure the proper functioning of OT equipment, including operating tables, suction machines, cautery units, monitors, lights, and anesthesia machines, and promptly report any malfunction.
- Maintain aseptic techniques and comply with infection prevention and control protocols.
- Assist in patient positioning, transfer, and preparation before and after surgery.
- Count surgical instruments, needles, and sponges before, during, and after procedures in coordination with the OT nursing staff.
- Clean, disinfect, and prepare the operation theatre for subsequent procedures.
- Maintain records of OT instruments, equipment, sterilization, and inventory.
- Ensure adequate stock of surgical supplies and communicate replenishment requirements to the appropriate department.
- Handle biomedical waste according to hospital policies and statutory guidelines.
- Support emergency and trauma surgeries as required.
- Participate in OT quality improvement initiatives, safety audits, and continuing education programs.

- Familiarity with surgical instruments and OT equipment.
- Understanding of infection prevention and biomedical waste management.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond to emergency situations.
- Good communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Working Conditions
- Rotational shifts, including day, evening, night, weekends, and public holidays.
- Availability for emergency and on-call duties as per hospital requirements.
