Position: Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) – Sanskrit
Department: Middle & Secondary School (Classes VI–X)
Job Summary
A TGT Sanskrit teacher is responsible for teaching Sanskrit language and literature to middle and secondary school students as per CBSE/ICSE/State Board curriculum. The role focuses on developing reading, writing, grammar, translation skills, and appreciation of Sanskrit literature and Indian cultural heritage.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Sanskrit to Classes VI–X:
- Sanskrit Grammar (व्याकरण)
- Shlokas and verses (श्लोक)
- Prose and poetry (गद्य एवं पद्य)
- Translation (अनुवाद कार्य)
- Comprehension and writing skills
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, question papers, and teaching aids.
- Conduct classroom teaching using interactive and traditional methods.
- Develop students’ skills in pronunciation, recitation, and grammar usage.
- Conduct tests, assignments, oral exams, and written assessments.
- Evaluate answer sheets and maintain academic records.
- Encourage students to understand Indian culture, values, and traditions through Sanskrit texts.
- Provide remedial support to weak students.
- Use charts, stories, and audio-visual tools to enhance learning.
- Maintain discipline and a positive classroom environment.
- Participate in PTMs, school functions, competitions, and academic meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sanskrit (B.A. Sanskrit) or equivalent.
- B.Ed. from a recognized university (mandatory in most schools).
- CTET/TET (Paper II) preferred.
- Strong command of Sanskrit grammar and literature.
Experience
- Fresher or 1–5 years of teaching experience preferred.
- Experience teaching CBSE/ICSE middle and secondary classes is an advantage.

Additional Responsibilities
- Promote interest in Sanskrit language and Indian heritage.
- Organize recitation, shloka chanting, and language competitions.
- Encourage handwriting improvement and language accuracy.
