Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Part Process Engineer to manage the complete sheet metal processing activities. The candidate should have hands-on knowledge of SolidWorks, Laser Cutting Machines, Turret Punch Machines, and CNC Bending Machines. The role includes preparing production-ready drawings, machine programming, nesting optimization, process planning, and coordinating with production to ensure quality, accuracy, and timely manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare production drawings using SolidWorks.
Convert design drawings into manufacturing-ready DXF files.
Prepare optimized nesting for Laser Cutting and Turret Punch Machines to minimize material wastage.
Generate machine programs for Laser Cutting, Turret Punching, and CNC Bending Machines.
Prepare bend programs and select appropriate tooling for bending operations.
Verify dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturability before releasing programs.
Coordinate with the Design, Production, Purchase, and Quality departments.
Optimize cutting layouts to improve productivity and reduce production costs.
Maintain proper revision control of drawings and CNC programs.
Troubleshoot production and programming issues related to sheet metal processing.
Prepare process sheets, cutting plans, and production documentation.
Monitor material utilization and recommend continuous process improvements.
Support production teams during new product development and prototype manufacturing.
Ensure compliance with company SOPs, quality standards, and safety guidelines.
Required Skills
Proficiency in SolidWorks (Sheet Metal Module).
Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
Experience in Laser Cutting Machine programming.
Experience in Turret Punch Machine programming.
Experience in CNC Bending Machine programming.
Knowledge of nesting software (SigmaNEST, RADAN, Lantek, BySoft, or equivalent).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication details.
Knowledge of stainless steel fabrication will be an added advantage.
Good computer skills (MS Office & ERP knowledge preferred).
Qualification
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.
CAD/CAM certification will be an added advantage.
