Position: Purchase Executive
Reports To: Purchase Manager / Head – Supply Chain
Job Summary
The Purchase Executive will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials required for manufacturing and project execution. The role involves vendor management, procurement planning, price negotiation, purchase order processing, and coordination with internal departments to ensure timely material availability while maintaining quality, cost, and delivery standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Source and procure raw materials, engineering components, consumables, and project materials.
- Obtain quotations, prepare comparative statements, negotiate with vendors, and issue Purchase Orders.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Stores, Projects, Quality, and Accounts for procurement requirements.
- Ensure timely material availability to support production and project schedules.
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships while monitoring supplier quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Track purchase orders, follow up on deliveries, and resolve supply-related issues.
- Maintain purchase records, vendor database, MIS reports, and procurement documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and support cost optimization and inventory control initiatives.
Qualification
- Graduate in Commerce, Science, Business Administration, or any relevant discipline.
- Diploma/B.E. in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering will be an added advantage.
- MBA / PG Diploma in Supply Chain Management or Materials Management is preferred.
Experience
- 1–5 years of experience in Purchase, Procurement, or Supply Chain.
- Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Equipment, Fabrication, EPC, or Water & Wastewater Treatment industries will be preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and purchase documentation.
- Understanding of engineering materials and industrial components.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, ERP software, and email communication.
- Good analytical, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong planning, organizational, and time management abilities.
