Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching ICT to Primary Students
- Teach basic computer skills to students in Classes 1–5.
- Help students learn:
- Parts of a computer
- Using keyboard and mouse
- Basic typing skills
- Drawing using computer programs
- Creating simple documents
- Using educational games and learning software
- Introduce simple internet concepts and safe browsing practices.
- Use fun and interactive methods suitable for young children.
2. Lesson Planning and Preparation
- Prepare lesson plans according to the primary ICT curriculum.
- Design age-appropriate activities and worksheets.
- Use multimedia tools such as videos, animations, and presentations.
- Integrate ICT activities with subjects like English, Maths, and EVS.
3. Classroom and Lab Management
- Maintain discipline in the computer lab.
- Guide students on proper handling of computers and devices.
- Ensure students follow lab rules and safety instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the computer lab.
4. Assessment and Record Keeping
- Assess students’ ICT skills through:
- Practical activities
- Classwork and projects
- Simple tests
- Maintain records of students’ progress.
- Provide feedback to students and parents when required.
5. Equipment Maintenance
- Ensure computers, printers, and projectors are working properly.
- Report technical issues to the IT support staff.
- Assist in setting up digital equipment for school programs.
6. Teaching Digital Safety
- Teach students about:
- Safe use of the internet
- Cyber safety basics
- Respectful use of technology
- Encourage responsible digital behavior.
7. Professional Duties
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
- Stay updated with new educational technologies.
- Work with other teachers to support digital learning.
- Participate in school events and activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / ICT
- Teaching qualification such as B.Ed. or D.El.Ed.
- Basic knowledge of teaching young children.
