The TGT Social Science Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, concept-based, and student-centric lessons in Social Science for Classes IX & X and History/Political Science for Class XI. The teacher will foster critical thinking, analytical skills, and civic awareness while ensuring excellent academic outcomes in accordance with the CBSE curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Social Science (History, Political Science/Civics, Geography, and Economics) to Classes IX & X and History, Political Science to Grade XI as per the CBSE curriculum.
- Teach History and/or Political Science to Class XI with strong conceptual clarity and exam-oriented preparation.
- Prepare annual planners, lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, and competency-based assessments.
- Develop engaging classroom experiences through discussions, debates, presentations, projects, case studies, and inquiry-based learning.
- Integrate current affairs, historical perspectives, constitutional values, and global developments into classroom teaching.
- Use digital tools, smart boards, maps, timelines, documentaries, and other teaching aids to enhance learning.
- Prepare students for internal assessments, periodic tests, CBSE Board examinations, and school examinations.
- Assess student performance regularly, provide constructive feedback, and conduct remedial and enrichment sessions where required.
- Maintain accurate academic records, assessment data, attendance, and student progress reports.
- Create an inclusive, disciplined, and positive classroom environment that promotes active participation.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding students' academic progress and overall development.
- Participate in school assemblies, competitions, field visits, clubs, exhibitions, and co-curricular activities.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development programmes, and training sessions.
- Perform examination duties and other academic or administrative responsibilities assigned by the school.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in History or Political Science from a recognized university.
- B.Ed. from a recognized institution (Mandatory).
- CTET/TET qualification preferred.
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE school (preferred).
