Role Purpose
To drive new customer acquisition from Retail, Trader, Wholesale, Cash & Carry, Distributor, and Cluster Markets by developing strong relationships within local business ecosystems and generating sustainable logistics business. The role requires extensive field sales activity, market mapping, cluster penetration, and direct engagement with traders, retailers, wholesalers, distributors, and SMEs.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Acquisition
- Acquire new customers from retail, wholesale, trader, distributor, and SME segments.
- Generate revenue through express parcel, surface, and logistics solutions.
- Identify high-potential business clusters and convert opportunities into active accounts.
Market Mapping & Cluster Development
- Conduct detailed market mapping of local trading hubs and commercial clusters.
- Develop territory-wise penetration plans.
- Create and maintain a pipeline of prospects across assigned markets.
Relationship Management
- Build relationships with:
- Retailers
- Traders
- Wholesalers
- Distributors
- Cash & Carry customers
- Market Associations
- Ensure customer retention and revenue growth.
Sales Planning & Execution
- Achieve monthly acquisition and revenue targets.
- Conduct daily field visits and customer meetings.
- Prepare territory development plans and execute them effectively.
Account Growth
- Drive wallet share increase from acquired customers.
- Cross-sell logistics products and value-added services.
- Ensure high customer engagement and service satisfaction.
Desired Candidate ProfileExperience
- 2-4 years of field sales experience.
- Experience in Logistics, Express, Courier, Supply Chain, Distribution, FMCG Route-to-Market, or B2B Sales.
Must Have
- Strong understanding of trader markets and retail ecosystems.
- Experience working in wholesale markets, distribution channels, or cluster-based selling.
- Strong local market knowledge of Bangalore/Kolkata.
- Existing network among traders, retailers, wholesalers, and distributors preferred.
- Ability to conduct extensive field sales activities.
