Job Summary
A CSSD Technician is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, packaging, storing, and distributing medical instruments and equipment used in healthcare facilities. The technician ensures that all reusable medical devices are processed according to infection control standards and hospital policies to maintain patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect used surgical instruments and medical equipment from hospital departments.
- Decontaminate, clean, and inspect instruments for cleanliness and functionality.
- Assemble, package, and prepare instrument sets for sterilization.
- Operate sterilization equipment such as steam autoclaves, low-temperature sterilizers, and washer-disinfectors.
- Monitor and document sterilization cycles using physical, chemical, and biological indicators.
- Label, store, and distribute sterile supplies to operating rooms and clinical units.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and inventory.
- Identify and report damaged or malfunctioning instruments and equipment.
- Follow infection prevention, occupational safety, and quality assurance procedures.
- Participate in stock management and ordering of sterile supplies.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certificate or Diploma in CSSD/Sterile Processing Technology (preferred).
- Knowledge of infection control principles and sterilization techniques.
- Ability to operate sterilization and decontamination equipment.
- Basic computer and documentation skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Pay: ₹13,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
