Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
Manage end-to-end accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.- Ensure accurate maintenance of the General Ledger, including timely and accurate recording of all financial
transactions.
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Review balance sheet schedules and ensure timely closure of all accounts.
- Oversee and manage the preparation of financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Statement, Cash
Flow Statement, Statement of Changes in Equity, and Notes to Accounts.
- Develop and manage the monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports and financial performance dashboards
for senior leadership.
- Perform financial variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods, providing actionable insights to
management.
- Coordinate with external auditors, internal auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities throughout the audit
lifecycle.
- Prepare audit schedules, lead schedules, supporting documentation, and statutory disclosures required for statutory,
internal, tax, and group audits.
- Review audit observations and implement corrective actions to strengthen financial controls and compliance.
- Ensure timely submission of audited financial statements and regulatory filings.
- Maintain complete audit documentation and ensure compliance with internal control frameworks and corporate
governance requirements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline the financial close process, reduce close cycle time, and enhance
reporting accuracy through process automation and ERP optimization.
2. Accounts Payable (AP)
Oversee vendor invoice processing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies.- Ensure timely vendor payments, managing payment runs and processing.
- Review payment proposals and obtain necessary approvals.
- Monitor vendor aging and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain vendor reconciliations and ensure accuracy of vendor master data.
- Strengthen payment controls and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
3. Accounts Receivable (AR)
Monitor customer collections and manage outstanding balances to minimize Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).- Review aging reports and drive collection strategies.
- Improve cash collections through proactive engagement and effective follow-up.
- Coordinate with sales teams for overdue accounts and provide timely updates.
- Assess bad debt provisions and recommend write-offs where appropriate.
- Review customer credit limits and credit risk assessments periodically.
4. General Ledger (GL)
Supervise journal postings and ensure accuracy of all GL entries.- Review account reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Ensure accurate accruals and provisions are recorded in accordance with accounting policies.
- Manage the chart of accounts and ensure its integrity.
- Review intercompany reconciliations and ensure timely settlement.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
5. Fixed Assets :
Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy and completeness.- Properly capitalize assets in line with company policy and accounting standards.
- Review depreciation calculations and ensure adherence to the depreciation policy.
- Perform impairment assessments for assets as required.
- Manage asset disposals, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
6. Treasury & Cash Flow :
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor working capital effectively.
- Manage banking relationships and optimize liquidity.
- Review fund transfers and ensure compliance with policies.
- Optimize cash utilization and manage investments and fixed deposits.
- Monitor borrowing requirements and manage credit lines.
7. Budgeting & Forecasting :
- Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with various departments.
- Prepare rolling forecasts and analyze budget vs. actual variances.
- Support business planning and strategic initiatives with financial insights.
- Recommend cost optimization initiatives.
8. Taxation :
- Ensure compliance with Goods and Services Tax (GST), Direct Tax (TDS), Professional Tax, and other applicable tax
regulations.
- Coordinate tax assessments and provide necessary documentation.
- Review tax returns before submission.
9. Statutory Compliance :
- Ensure all company activities comply with the Companies Act and other relevant statutes.
- Coordinate statutory audits and provide necessary support.
- Coordinate internal audits and follow up on audit observations.
10. Audit Management :
- Coordinate statutory and internal audits, ensuring smooth execution.
- Prepare audit schedules and support the audit process.
- Resolve audit observations and implement recommended actions.
- Ensure timely completion of audits.
11. Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Develop, implement, and monitor financial controls to safeguard assets and ensure operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Identify and assess financial risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
12. Payroll & Employee Benefits
Review payroll processing and ensure compliance with statutory deductions.- Verify payroll accounting and postings.
- Review gratuity, leave encashment, and bonus provisions.
13. Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Process Management
Own and oversee the complete Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle from purchase requisition to vendor payment.- Review Purchase Orders (POs) for financial accuracy and budget availability.
- Ensure timely three-way matching (PO, Goods Receipt Note, Vendor Invoice).
- Monitor vendor invoice processing and payment turnaround times.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and supplier disputes.
- Review vendor master data and ensure appropriate controls over vendor on boarding and changes.
14. Order-to-Cash (O2C) Process Management
- Manage the complete Order-to-Cash (O2C) lifecycle from customer order receipt through cash collection.
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to ensure efficient order processing.
- Review customer credit limits and credit risk assessments.
- Oversee billing and invoicing activities, ensuring accuracy and timely issuance.
- Monitor customer collections and reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
- Review aging reports and drive collection strategies.
- Manage customer disputes, deductions, and billing discrepancies.
- Ensure timely cash application and account reconciliation.
- Evaluate bad debt provisions and recommend write-offs where appropriate.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CA, CPA, CMA) is highly
preferred.
- Minimum of 8 – 10 Years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a
supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferably ( Tally , Zoho ERP )
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external
stakeholders.
