Team Shabnam is an interior design firm specializing in thoughtfully designed residential and commercial spaces. We are looking for a hands-on and responsible Production Head – Furniture to oversee furniture production and ensure that every piece meets the required quality, design, timeline, and cost standards.
Role Overview
The Production Head will be responsible for managing the end-to-end furniture production process, from approved designs and drawings through material planning, manufacturing, quality control, finishing, and final delivery.
The ideal candidate should have practical knowledge of furniture manufacturing, strong production planning skills, and the ability to manage craftsmen, supervisors, vendors, and production teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Management
- Oversee the complete production process for custom and modular furniture.
- Plan and schedule production according to project requirements and deadlines.
- Review furniture drawings, specifications, BOQs, and production requirements.
- Coordinate multiple furniture orders and projects simultaneously.
- Monitor daily production progress and ensure timely completion.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure production targets are achieved without compromising quality.
Furniture Manufacturing
- Strong practical knowledge of custom and modular furniture manufacturing.
- Good understanding of plywood, MDF, HDF, veneer, laminates, solid wood, acrylic, glass, metal, and other furniture materials.
- Knowledge of furniture hardware, hinges, channels, handles, mechanisms, and fittings.
- Understand furniture construction, joinery, finishing, and assembly methods.
- Review technical drawings and identify production challenges before manufacturing.
- Coordinate with designers and technical teams to resolve production issues.
Team Management
- Manage carpenters, craftsmen, machine operators, polishers, fabricators, supervisors, and other production staff.
- Allocate manpower according to production requirements.
- Monitor team productivity and work quality.
- Train and guide the production team.
- Maintain discipline, safety, and proper workflow within the production facility.
Quality Control
- Maintain consistent quality standards across all furniture production.
- Inspect furniture at different stages of manufacturing.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and proper finishing.
- Identify and rectify defects, damages, and production errors.
- Conduct final quality checks before dispatch.
- Minimize rework, rejection, and material wastage.
Material & Vendor Management
- Plan material requirements according to production schedules.
- Coordinate with procurement and stores teams.
- Monitor material consumption and wastage.
- Coordinate with external furniture manufacturers, workshops, and specialized vendors.
- Monitor vendor quality, timelines, and productivity.
- Resolve vendor-related production issues.
Cost & Productivity
- Monitor production costs and material usage.
- Reduce unnecessary wastage and rework.
- Improve production efficiency and team productivity.
- Identify cost-effective manufacturing methods.
- Track production output against planned targets.
- Ensure production is completed within agreed timelines and budgets.
Delivery & Installation Coordination
- Coordinate with logistics and site teams for timely furniture dispatch.
- Ensure furniture is properly packed and protected during transportation.
- Coordinate with installation teams for production-related issues.
- Handle modifications or rectification requirements arising during installation.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in furniture production/manufacturing.
- Strong practical knowledge of custom and modular furniture.
- Experience managing carpenters, craftsmen, production workers, and vendors.
- Good understanding of furniture materials, hardware, machinery, and manufacturing techniques.
- Ability to read and understand furniture drawings and specifications.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- Good production planning and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under strict project deadlines.
- Strong focus on quality, productivity, and timely delivery.

Compensation

The final salary will be based on the candidate's experience, technical knowledge, productivity, leadership ability, previous performance, and overall suitability for the role.
