About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled, creative, and commercially minded Fashion Designer who will be designing lehengas, occasion wear, festive wear, and contemporary fusion garments and more.
The successful candidate will be responsible for taking garments from initial concept through to sampling and final production, creating commercially successful collections for girls and young women aged 12–18 years for the UK, USA, and Middle Eastern markets.
A strong understanding of current fashion trends, garment construction, fabrics, embellishments, and commercial product development is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design process from initial concept through to final production, ensuring each collection aligns with the brand's vision and commercial objectives.
- Research global fashion trends, colours, fabrics, silhouettes, and seasonal inspirations for the UK, USA, and Middle Eastern markets.
- Create mood boards, sketches, CADs, colour palettes, and detailed technical specification (tech) packs.
- Select and source fabrics, trims, embroidery, prints, embellishments, and accessories suitable for each collection.
- Develop garments from concept through sampling, ensuring designs are production-ready and commercially viable.
- Coordinate with suppliers, embroidery vendors, and manufacturing partners throughout the product development process.
- Review prototypes and samples, conduct sample fittings, evaluate fit, construction, and finish, and implement design improvements where required.
- Work closely with pattern makers, garment technologists, and production teams to ensure designs are accurately translated into finished products.
- Monitor product quality, production timelines, and costs, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising design integrity.
- Present seasonal concepts, collections, and product developments to senior management.
- Stay informed on emerging fashion trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activity to drive innovation across the brand.
Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of fashion for the 12–18-year-old market.
- Excellent knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, embroidery techniques, embellishments, and finishing.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Google Workspace. Clo 3D software is a bonus.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, technical ability, and commercial awareness.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
