RESPONSIBILITIES
About the Department
The Finance department of BW LPG India is headed by the Head of Finance and has a planned team size of seven colleagues. The team is tasked with achieving world-class quality in all Finance, Accounting and Compliance activities with a strong focus on ensuring full transparency and zero surprises in all its deliverables.
Role Summary
This role is responsible for AR activities as well as Bank reconciliations for Indian entities of BW LPG.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the timely and accurate recording of revenue and the issuance of correct invoices in strict compliance with statutory requirements and contractual entitlements. Ensure zero non-conformities with the Process SOP.
- Follow-up to ensure completeness of revenue and prevent revenue leakage through close interdepartmental collaboration. Adhere to the principles of transparency and predictability.
- Pursue collections for all outstanding invoices as per agreed timelines, with timely escalation at appropriate level in case of deviations in a timely manner to prompt necessary action.
- Responsible for daily bank reconciliation with strong follow-up for prompt closure of reconciliation items. Review and sign off on monthly bank reconciliation statements.
- Manage direct report(s) and the team, ensuring team structures and job definitions, targets and objectives, recruitment, appraisals, feedback, training and development and reward allocation are administered in keeping with company culture and guidelines.
- Prepare the required analysis and information in a structured manner to explain revenue and outstanding position periodically and support decision making as needed. Assist in revenue and TDS receivable reconciliations.
- Assist in identifying risk exposure related to the activities managed and recommend corresponding control measure(s) to mitigate risk in accordance with risk management principles, framework & process. Identify opportunities for systems improvement and participate in systems implementation projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Commerce/ Accounts Graduate from a reputable university with good academic track record
- Minimum 10 years of experience in AR preferably within the shipping industry, prior knowledge of time charter arrangements
- People management experience preferred
- Strong numeracy and written skills
- Possesses commercial acumen
- Computer literate with good working knowledge of Excel and exposure to advanced ERP systems, preferably Oracle
- Able to work in a systematic and organized manner

- This is an onsite role based in Mumbai, India.
