Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Nutraceutical / Functional Beverage Lead to drive the development of innovative nutraceutical and functional beverage products. This role will be responsible for product formulation, regulatory coordination, ingredient sourcing, and innovation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in nutraceuticals, sports nutrition, or functional beverages and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities Product Development
- Lead end-to-end product development for nutraceutical and functional beverage products.
- Finalize formulations based on product objectives and target consumer needs.
- Optimize ingredient selection, dosage levels, and ingredient compatibility.
- Validate product claims in collaboration with regulatory and technical teams.
- Coordinate product stability and shelf-life testing activities.
- Work closely with manufacturing partners to ensure product quality and consistency.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Coordinate with FSSAI and relevant regulatory authorities.
- Ensure compliance with nutraceutical and functional food regulations.
- Review product labels, packaging content, and health claims.
- Assess the legality and substantiation of product claims.
- Maintain regulatory documentation and approvals.
Ingredient Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Identify and evaluate ingredient suppliers across India.
- Source adaptogens, botanical extracts, vitamins, minerals, and specialty ingredients.
- Identify and coordinate with premix manufacturers and contract manufacturing partners.
- Support procurement and supplier qualification processes.
- Monitor ingredient quality, cost efficiency, and availability.
Innovation & Market Research
- Track emerging trends in nutraceuticals, wellness, and functional beverages.
- Recommend innovative ingredients and product concepts.
- Conduct competitive analysis and market research.
- Support the launch of new products and product line extensions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- 3–8 years of experience in:
- Nutraceutical companies
- Functional beverage startups
- Sports nutrition companies
- Strong understanding of nutraceutical formulations and ingredient science.
- Working knowledge of FSSAI regulations and nutraceutical compliance requirements.
- Experience in supplier sourcing and vendor management.
Preferred Skills
