The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving industrial gearboxes and related transmission components. The role includes product design, calculations, CAD modeling, drawing preparation, design validation, and coordination with production, quality, and procurement teams to ensure successful product development and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop gearbox assemblies, gears, shafts, housings, and related components.
- Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software.
- Perform design calculations for gear selection, shaft design, bearing selection, and torque transmission.
- Review customer requirements and provide suitable design solutions.
- Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and manufacturing drawings.
- Coordinate with production and quality departments for design implementation.
- Conduct design modifications and product improvements based on field feedback.
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of product failures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards and customer specifications.
- Participate in prototype development, testing, and validation activities.
- Maintain design records, engineering change notes (ECN), and technical documentation.
- Required Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, or similar CAD software.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in industrial gearbox or geared motor manufacturing.
- Knowledge of gear design, gearbox design, shafts, bearings, and power transmission systems.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, heat treatment, and assembly.
- Ability to perform engineering calculations and technical analysis.
- Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Pay: ₹11,221.89 - ₹26,104.53 per month
