Job Summary
The Extruder Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining extrusion machines to produce quality products according to production specifications while ensuring safety, productivity, and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate extrusion machines as per production requirements.
- Load raw materials into the hopper and monitor material flow.
- Adjust machine settings such as temperature, pressure, screw speed, and line speed.
- Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Perform in-process quality inspections and record production data.
- Identify and troubleshoot machine or process issues.
- Change dies, screens, and tooling when required.
- Maintain production targets while minimizing waste and scrap.
- Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
- Maintain housekeeping in the production area (5S).
- Coordinate with maintenance and quality teams during breakdowns or quality concerns.
- Report machine abnormalities and production issues to the supervisor.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of extrusion machine operation.
- Understanding of process parameters (temperature, pressure, RPM, cooling, etc.).
- Ability to read production sheets and work instructions.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with quality inspection tools.
- Good communication and teamwork.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma / 10th or 12th Pass (depending on company requirements).
- Certification in machine operation is an added advantage.
Experience
- 1–5 years of experience operating extrusion machines.
- Experience in plastics, PVC, HDPE, LDPE, PP, cable, film, pipe, or profile extrusion preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift raw materials as required.
- Willingness to work in rotating shifts.
Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹36,871.08 per month
