Job Summary
The QC Head will be responsible for leading the Quality Control function by ensuring that all products meet customer specifications, company quality standards, and shipment timelines. The role involves managing the end-to-end inspection process, leading the QC team, coordinating with cross-functional departments and suppliers, driving continuous quality improvements, and ensuring timely approvals to support smooth production and on-time deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Planning & Inspection Management
- Prepare and manage the QC inspection schedule in alignment with Purchase Order (PO) shipment timelines.
- Plan and prioritize inspection activities based on production status, shipment urgency, and customer requirements.
- Ensure all inspections are conducted strictly as per approved QC Specification Sheets, customer requirements, and company SOPs.
- Verify product specifications, measurements, technical details, workmanship standards, and quality parameters before inspections.
- Ensure First Piece Inspection (FPI), pre-production approvals, inline inspections, and final inspections are completed within defined timelines.
- Monitor inspection progress to prevent shipment delays and maintain delivery commitments.
Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, supervise, and mentor the Quality Control team.
- Conduct daily QC meetings to review inspection status, discuss operational challenges, and implement corrective actions.
- Allocate work effectively to optimize productivity and resource utilization.
- Develop a quality-focused culture through continuous learning and process discipline.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Merchandising, Operations, Production, CAD, Stone Department, Packaging, Logistics, and Data Teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Follow up with suppliers regarding inspection readiness, FPI approvals, corrective actions, and quality compliance.
- Resolve quality-related issues proactively to avoid production or shipment delays.
- Ensure QC documentation is completed accurately and submitted within agreed timelines.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure strict compliance with customer specifications, inspection protocols, company quality standards, and internal SOPs.
- Periodically review QC Specification Sheets prepared by team members to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Validate inspection reports before final approvals and customer submission.
- Ensure all inspection records and documentation are maintained for traceability and audit readiness.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and review daily QC reports, inspection summaries, defect analysis reports, and MIS for management.
- Analyze recurring quality issues using root cause analysis techniques.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to reduce defects and improve product quality.
- Monitor quality KPIs and recommend process improvements based on data-driven insights.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive initiatives to improve inspection efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Standardize quality processes and recommend enhancements to inspection methods and reporting systems.
- Support automation and digitalization initiatives related to quality documentation and reporting.
- Ensure continuous adherence to best quality management practices.
Escalation & Decision Making
- Escalate critical quality concerns, supplier non-compliance, production bottlenecks, or shipment risks to management with practical recommendations.
- Support management in strategic quality planning and policy implementation.
- Take ownership of quality-related decision-making to protect customer satisfaction and company reputation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in Quality Management will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in leading and managing a Quality Control team.
- Mandatory: Hands-on experience in the Jewellery Manufacturing and Gems & Jewellery Export industry. Candidates without relevant jewellery industry experience will not be considered.
Pay: ₹700,000.00 - ₹900,000.00 per year
