- Production Oversight: Manage the day-to-day operations of the bakery or pastry section, ensuring timely output of high-quality products like breads, cakes, and pastries.
- Menu & Recipe Development: Create and test new recipes to expand the product line and design seasonal menus to attract customers.
- Staff Leadership: Hire, train, and supervise a team of bakers and assistants, including setting schedules and conducting performance reviews.
- Quality Control: Maintain strict standards for taste, texture, and presentation, and inspect all products before they are displayed or served.
- Inventory & Cost Management: Monitor stock levels, order supplies from vendors, and manage food costs to ensure profitability.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure the kitchen adheres to all local health codes, sanitation standards, and safety regulations (e.g., FSSAI or local DOH).
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the proper use and cleaning of bakery equipment (mixers, ovens, proofers) and coordinate necessary repairs.
