Powder Coating Operator – Roles and Responsibilities
Production Operations
- Prepare metal parts and surfaces for powder coating by cleaning, sanding, masking, and pre-treating as required.
- Set up and operate powder coating equipment, spray guns, booths, ovens, and curing systems.
- Apply powder coating according to specified thickness, color, and quality standards.
- Monitor coating consistency and make adjustments to achieve required finish quality.
- Load and unload parts onto conveyors, racks, or fixtures safely and efficiently.
Quality Control
- Inspect coated parts for defects such as uneven coverage, runs, orange peel, contamination, or color variation.
- Measure coating thickness using appropriate gauges and testing equipment.
- Verify finished products meet customer specifications and company quality standards.
- Perform touch-up or rework activities when necessary.
Equipment Maintenance
- Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of powder coating booths, spray guns, filters, and ovens.
- Identify equipment malfunctions and report maintenance requirements promptly.
- Ensure proper calibration and operation of coating equipment.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow workplace safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Handle powders, chemicals, and cleaning agents according to safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Comply with environmental regulations related to powder coating operations and waste disposal.
Material Handling
- Manage powder inventory and verify correct powder type, batch, and color before application.
- Store coating materials properly to prevent contamination and moisture exposure.
- Record production data, material usage, and quality inspection results.
Team Collaboration
- Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to meet production schedules.
- Assist in training new operators on equipment operation and safety procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.
Key Skills Required
- Knowledge of powder coating processes and surface preparation techniques.
- Ability to operate spray guns, curing ovens, and coating equipment.
- Understanding of coating thickness standards and quality inspection methods.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
