Job Title: Procurement / Operations Manager Department: Procurement / Operations Industry: Construction Employment Type: Full-time Experience: 5–10 years in Procurement / Operations, preferably in the Construction field Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field Location: Marathakara Salary: 70000 Job Summary We are looking for an experienced and proactive Procurement / Operations Manager with strong experience in the construction industry to oversee procurement activities, material planning, vendor management, logistics, and day-to-day operational requirements. The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of construction materials, supplier negotiations, project procurement, inventory management, and coordination with project and site teams. Key Responsibilities Procurement Plan and manage procurement of construction materials, equipment, tools, and services. Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and vendors. Obtain quotations, compare prices, negotiate commercial terms, and issue purchase orders. Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials according to project requirements. Monitor material prices and market trends to achieve cost-effective purchasing. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and service providers. Verify quality, quantity, specifications, and delivery schedules of purchased materials. Operations Management Coordinate daily operational activities across construction projects and sites. Work closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Store, Accounts, and Management teams. Ensure availability of required materials, manpower, equipment, and services. Monitor project requirements and coordinate timely material movement to sites. Track operational costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement. Ensure company procedures and operational policies are followed. Inventory & Logistics Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimum stock availability. Coordinate transportation and delivery of materials to construction sites. Prevent material shortages, excess stock, wastage, and unnecessary purchasing. Coordinate with stores for material receipt, inspection, documentation, and issue. Maintain proper procurement, delivery, and inventory records. Vendor & Contract Management Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts with vendors. Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery. Resolve supplier-related issues, delays, quality concerns, and commercial disputes. Develop alternative suppliers to minimize procurement risks. Reporting & Compliance Prepare procurement reports, purchase analysis, vendor performance reports, and operational MIS. Monitor procurement budgets and project material costs. Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and project requirements. Maintain proper documentation of quotations, purchase orders, invoices, delivery notes, and contracts. Required Skills Strong knowledge of construction materials and procurement processes. Experience in construction project procurement and site operations. Excellent vendor negotiation and cost-control skills. Good knowledge of inventory and logistics management. Strong communication and coordination skills. Good analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP/procurement software, and MS Office. Leadership and team-management skills. Preferred Experience 5–10 years of relevant experience, preferably with a construction company, contracting company, or infrastructure project. Experience handling procurement for civil construction materials, MEP materials, tools, equipment, and subcontractor requirements will be an advantage. Experience coordinating with project sites and suppliers is preferred.
Pay: ₹65,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
