Required Arc Welder for aircraft Engine Assembly
- Reading and interpreting plans: Study blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements and plan welding procedures.
- Preparing and assembling components: Position, align, and secure metal parts, often using jigs and clamps, before welding them together. This includes cutting metal to size and cleaning surfaces.
- Performing welding and cutting: Operate a variety of equipment, including arc welders, and cutting torches, to fuse and shape metal.
- Quality control: Inspect finished welds for flaws, defects, or quality issues and ensure they meet required standards.
- Equipment maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on welding machinery and tools to keep them in good working order.
- Safety compliance: Follow strict safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Additional tasks
- Smooth and polish welded surfaces for a finished appearance.
- Build up worn or defective surfaces.
- Keep the work area clean and orderly.
- Work with other crews and professionals to complete projects.
- Job working hours 12 hrs
