About the role
We are a lead recycling / waste management company looking for an experienced professional in the secondary lead industry. You will handle end-to-end operations — sourcing and purchasing used lead acid battery scrap from dealers and generators, and selling refined lead ingots to buyers. This is a field-heavy trading role requiring strong market knowledge and an existing network in the lead scrap ecosystem.
Key responsibilities
- Source and purchase used/spent lead acid batteries (LAB scrap) from dealers, workshops, industries, and scrap aggregators
- Negotiate purchase prices based on lead content, scrap grade, and prevailing LME/market rates
- Assess and grade incoming battery scrap (dry charged, wet, drained, crushed)
- Sell refined lead ingots to battery manufacturers, lead alloy producers, and metal traders
- Develop and maintain buyer/seller network — workshops, auto dealers, scrap dealers, smelters
- Track daily market prices (LME lead price, domestic lead rates) and adjust pricing accordingly
- Coordinate inbound logistics for scrap collection and outbound dispatch of ingots
- Ensure all purchases and sales are done with valid GST invoices and proper documentation
- Maintain daily purchase/sale MIS reports and submit to management
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in lead acid battery scrap trading, lead smelting, or secondary lead industry
- Strong knowledge of lead scrap grades — whole batteries, drained cells, plates, paste, lead alloys
- Familiarity with LME lead pricing, domestic lead market, and price negotiation
- Existing network of battery scrap suppliers (workshops, dealers, aggregators) preferred
- Knowledge of GST documentation, e-way bills, and scrap purchase compliance
- Willingness to travel for field scrap collection and supplier visits
- Basic computer skills for MIS reporting (Excel preferred)
Preferred background
- Worked at secondary lead smelters (e.g. Exide, Amara Raja recycling partners, or local smelters)
- Experience at battery scrap collection/aggregation companies
- Prior role in non-ferrous metal trading — lead, antimony, tin
- Knowledge of CPCB/SPCB norms for hazardous waste (battery scrap) handling
- Awareness of BSWA (Battery (Management & Handling) Rules) compliance
Pay: ₹25,000.08 - ₹40,000.00 per month
