TGT English Teacher (Classes V–IX)
Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Nagapattinam invites applications from passionate, dynamic, and committed educators for the post of TGT English Teacher (Classes V–IX). The ideal candidate should possess excellent subject knowledge, effective classroom management skills, and a passion for nurturing students' communication, language proficiency, and literary appreciation. Key Responsibilities1. Academic Excellence & Curriculum Delivery
- Teach English Language and Literature to students of Classes V–IX in accordance with the CBSE curriculum.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that strengthen students' Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing (LSRW) skills.
- Foster critical thinking, creativity, and appreciation for literature through interactive and learner-centred teaching methodologies.
- Effectively teach grammar, vocabulary, writing skills, reading comprehension, and literary texts.
2. Student Engagement & Language Development
- Encourage active participation through debates, group discussions, presentations, storytelling, role-plays, and creative writing activities.
- Build students' confidence in spoken English and public speaking.
- Organize literary activities such as quizzes, poetry recitations, essay writing, dramatics, book reviews, and reading clubs.
- Cultivate a habit of independent reading and effective communication among students.
3. Assessment & Academic Support
- Prepare and administer formative and summative assessments aligned with CBSE guidelines.
- Evaluate assignments, projects, classwork, and examinations, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Identify students requiring additional academic support and implement remedial teaching strategies.
- Maintain accurate academic records and monitor each student's progress throughout the academic year.
4. Professional & Collaborative Responsibilities
- Prepare innovative lesson plans, worksheets, question papers, and digital learning resources.
- Integrate ICT tools and modern teaching practices to enhance classroom learning.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to plan interdisciplinary activities and school events.
- Participate actively in Parent-Teacher Meetings, faculty development programmes, and school functions.
- Train and mentor students for literary competitions, assemblies, speeches, debates, elocution, creative writing contests, and cultural programmes.
Eligibility CriteriaEducational Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in English Literature.
- B.Ed. from a recognized institution (mandatory).
- Master's Degree in English Literature will be an added advantage.
- CTET/TET qualification is desirable.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Strong knowledge of the CBSE English curriculum for Classes V–IX.

- Effective classroom management and strong interpersonal skills.
