Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Head of Network & Cybersecurity with 10 - 20 years of experience to lead the design, implementation, and governance of our organization's network infrastructure and information security posture. This is a senior leadership role responsible for protecting our product, infrastructure, and customer data across cloud and on-premise environments, while enabling secure, scalable growth of the business. The ideal candidate is a hands-on security leader who can balance strategic security governance with deep technical execution, and who has experience securing IT product/SaaS environments at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- cybersecurity strategy, roadmap, and architecture in alignment with business objectives.
- Build, mentor, and lead a team of network engineers, security analysts, and SOC personnel.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all security-related matters with leadership, customers, auditors, and regulators.
- Own the enterprise risk register and drive risk mitigation plans to closure. Network Architecture & Operations
- Design, implement, and manage secure, scalable network architecture (LAN/WAN, data centre, cloud VPC/Vet, SD-WAN).
- Oversee network performance, availability, and capacity planning across offices, data centres, and cloud environments.Manage firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, load balancers, proxies, and network segmentation strategies.
Cybersecurity & Governance
- Own the enterprise information security program covering application security, infrastructure security, endpoint security, cloud security, and data protection.
- Lead vulnerability management, penetration testing, red teaming, and remediation programs.
- Establish and maintain Security Operations Center (SOC) capabilities including SIEM, threat intelligence, and incident response.
- Drive compliance and certification efforts (ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS as applicable to product/customers).
- Define and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures (IAM, data classification, acceptable use, BCP/DR).
Incident Response & Risk Management
- Lead incident response planning, execution, and post-incident reviews (RCA) for security breaches or network outages.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, threat modeling, and third-party/vendor security reviews.
- Own business continuity and disaster recovery planning for network and security infrastructure.
Product & Cloud Security
- Partner with Engineering/DevOps to embed security into the SDLC (DevSecOps, secure coding practices, CI/CD pipeline security).
- Secure multi-cloud/hybrid-cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP) including IAM, encryption, key management, and container/Kubernetes security.
- Support customer security questionnaires, audits, and due diligence during enterprise sales cycles.
Budget & Vendor Management
- Own the network and security budget, tooling investments, and ROI tracking.
- Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with security vendors, MSSPs, and technology partners.
Required Technical Skills
- 10–20 years of overall experience in Network Engineering and Cybersecurity, with at least 4–6 years in a leadership/managerial capacity.
- Proven experience securing environments for an IT product / SaaS company (not just IT services/support).Strong hands-on expertise in:
- Network architecture, routing & switching, firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, etc.)
- Cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP), Zero Trust architecture
- SIEM/SOC tools (Splunk, QRadar, Microsoft Sentinel, etc.)
- Vulnerability management & penetration testing tools (Nessus, Qualys, Burp Suite)
- IAM/PAM solutions, endpoint detection & response (EDR/XDR)
- Container & Kubernetes security
- Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks: ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, GDPR, PCI-DSS.
- Experience leading incident response and crisis management for security events.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills — comfortable presenting to leadership,board, and customers/auditors.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Information Security or Cyber Security.
- Strong understanding of enterprise security architecture and cyber defensestrategies.
- Experience with security audits, governance, and regulatory compliance.
- Hands-on experience managing enterprise security technologies.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

- CISSP / CISM / CISA
- CCNP / CCIE (Security track)
- Cloud security certifications (AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Azure SecurityEngineer, etc.)
- CEH / OSCP (hands-on security certifications, added advantage)
