We are a growing US based law firm seeking an experienced, highly organized Remote Civil Litigation Paralegal to join our team. You will work directly with attorneys to support active litigation matters across all phases — from case intake through trial preparation. This is a fully remote position open to candidates located anywhere in the World. You must be self-directed, deadline-driven, and fluent in U.S. federal and state civil procedure.
Responsibilities
- Draft, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, subpoenas, and correspondence in federal and state courts
- Manage all phases of discovery — prepare and respond to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission
- Organize, review, and summarize deposition transcripts, medical records, and case documents
- Maintain and manage case calendars, court deadlines, statutes of limitations, and docket entries
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, or similar platforms and prepare research memoranda
- Assist in trial preparation including exhibit binders, witness files, trial timelines, and jury instructions
- E-file documents in federal (PACER/CM-ECF) and state court electronic filing systems
- Maintain organized digital case files and document management systems (Clio, MyCase, or similar)
- Draft demand letters, settlement agreements, and correspondence under attorney supervision
- Monitor and summarize case law and statutory developments relevant to active matters
Required qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of U.S. civil litigation paralegal experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or related field — OR approved paralegal certificate
- Demonstrated working knowledge of federal and state civil procedure (FRCP and applicable state rules)
- Proficiency with PACER/CM-ECF federal electronic filing systems
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple active matters simultaneously and meet strict court deadlines
