JOB OVERVIEW
Talati & Partners LLP is looking for a talented and experienced Interior Designer with strong exposure to high-end luxury residential projects.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing sophisticated interior design concepts, from initial concept and space planning through detailed design, material selection, documentation, coordination, and site execution.
The candidate will work closely with architects, clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, suppliers, and project teams to ensure that every aspect of the project reflects the desired design vision, functionality, quality, and luxury standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Luxury Residential Design & Concept Development
- Develop high-end interior design concepts for luxury residences, villas, penthouses, and premium apartments.
- Translate client requirements and lifestyle preferences into refined and functional design concepts.
- Prepare concept presentations, mood boards, material palettes, sketches, and design presentations.
- Develop design concepts that complement the overall architectural language of the project.
- Incorporate client feedback and develop design iterations while maintaining design quality and intent.
2. Space Planning & Interior Layouts
- Develop efficient and aesthetically sophisticated space-planning solutions for luxury residences.
- Prepare detailed furniture layouts, reflected ceiling plans, flooring layouts, and circulation plans.
- Ensure functionality, ergonomics, spatial flow, and proportion are maintained throughout the design.
- Plan spaces including living rooms, dining areas, bedrooms, kitchens, walk-in wardrobes, home offices, entertainment areas, lounges, and other luxury residential spaces.
3. Material, Furniture & Finish Selection
- Select premium materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, sanitaryware, hardware, and accessories.
- Develop detailed material and finish palettes aligned with the project's luxury design language.
- Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers for sourcing and customization.
- Review material samples, mock-ups, finishes, and prototypes.
- Ensure selected materials meet the required quality, aesthetic, durability, and project specifications.
4. Detailed Design & Construction Documentation
- Prepare detailed interior working drawings, furniture drawings, ceiling plans, flooring layouts, wall elevations, joinery details, and construction details.
- Prepare detailed drawings for custom furniture, wardrobes, kitchens, paneling, doors, wall treatments, and other bespoke elements.
- Develop schedules and specifications required for execution and tendering.
- Coordinate interior drawings with architectural, structural, MEP, and other consultant drawings.
- Ensure drawings and documentation are accurate, coordinated, and execution-ready.
5. Site Coordination & Execution
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor the implementation of design intent.
- Coordinate with contractors, site teams, vendors, suppliers, and consultants.
- Review workmanship, materials, finishes, and installation quality.
- Resolve design and execution-related issues at site.
- Review shop drawings, samples, mock-ups, and material installations.
- Ensure the final execution maintains the required luxury quality and design standards.
6. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Conduct client meetings and presentations to communicate design concepts and progress.
- Understand and incorporate client preferences while maintaining the project's design vision.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Provide regular design updates and address client and project-related concerns.
- Build strong and professional relationships with high-end residential clients and project stakeholders.
7. Quality & Design Excellence
- Maintain high standards of design quality, detailing, craftsmanship, and finish.
- Conduct design reviews and quality checks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure consistency between design concepts, drawings, materials, and final execution.
- Identify opportunities to introduce innovative materials, bespoke details, and refined design solutions.
- Maintain a strong eye for proportion, detailing, materiality, lighting, colour, texture, and aesthetics.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in interior design.
- Strong and proven experience in high-end / luxury residential interior projects is preferred.
- Experience working with an architectural firm, interior design studio, or design consultancy will be preferred.
- Strong understanding of luxury residential design, materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, and detailing.
- Good knowledge of interior construction techniques and execution processes.
- Strong understanding of drawings, detailing, specifications, and site execution.
SOFTWARE SKILLS
Proficiency in relevant design and documentation software such as:
AutoCAD | Revit | SketchUp | Lumion | V-Ray | Adobe Photoshop | Adobe Illustrator | Adobe InDesign | MS Office

- Creative, adaptable, detail-oriented, and passionate about luxury interior design.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
