A Total Station Surveyor for building government projects is responsible for using a Total Station instrument to collect data for construction projects. The job responsibilities typically include:
Conducting topographic surveys to gather data for building design and construction.
Operating the Total Station instrument to measure distances, angles, and elevations.
Recording survey data accurately and efficiently.
Performing quality control checks on survey data to ensure accuracy.
Maintaining and calibrating survey equipment.
Collaborating with engineers, architects, and other construction professionals to meet project requirements.
Interpreting and preparing maps, plans, and other technical drawings.
Adhering to government regulations and standards related to survey and construction activities.
The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in Surveying, or a related field, and have experience in using Total Station instruments for building and construction surveys. Knowledge of software applications such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D is also desirable. Good communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential for this role.
