Quantity Surveyor
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage quantity estimation, cost control, billing, and commercial activities for construction/MEP projects. The candidate will be responsible for preparing BOQs, quantity take-offs, project cost estimates, client and subcontractor billing, variation calculations, and ensuring effective cost management throughout the project lifecycle.
1. Quantity Take-Off & Estimation
- Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Prepare accurate quantity take-offs for civil, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and other MEP works, as applicable.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates.
- Verify quantities and measurements at the project site.
2. Billing & Measurement
- Prepare and submit Running Account (RA) bills to clients.
- Prepare subcontractor and vendor bills based on completed work.
- Prepare and maintain measurement sheets and quantity records.
- Coordinate with site engineers and project teams for verification of completed work.
- Follow up with clients/consultants for bill certification and approval.
3. Cost Control
- Monitor project costs and expenditures against approved budgets.
- Prepare cost comparison and budget tracking reports.
- Identify cost variations, additional works, and potential cost overruns.
- Assist management in implementing cost-saving measures.
4. BOQ & Tendering
- Prepare BOQs based on drawings and project requirements.
- Assist in preparing tender documents and cost estimates.
- Compare quotations received from vendors and subcontractors.
- Support procurement and commercial teams in evaluating project costs.
5. Variation & Extra Work Management
- Identify variations and deviations from the original scope of work.
- Prepare quantity calculations and cost estimates for additional or extra works.
- Maintain records and supporting documents for variation claims.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and project teams for variation approval.
6. Contract & Commercial Coordination
- Review contract documents related to quantities, rates, and payment terms.
- Assist in maintaining contractual and commercial documentation.
- Support the preparation of claims and final accounts.
- Ensure compliance with project contractual requirements.
7. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of BOQs, measurements, bills, and cost estimates.
- Prepare weekly and monthly billing and cost reports.
- Track certified, submitted, and pending bills.
- Maintain documentation for audits and project records.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Quantity Surveying.
- Relevant experience in construction, MEP, infrastructure, or engineering projects.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of quantity take-off and BOQ preparation.
- Experience in RA billing and subcontractor billing.
- Knowledge of project drawings and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of estimation and cost-control techniques.
- Good analytical, mathematical, and negotiation skills.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in MEP projects, commercial buildings, industrial projects, infrastructure, or construction projects.
- Knowledge of client billing, subcontractor billing, and variation management.
- Familiarity with contract terms and project commercial procedures.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy of quantity take-offs and BOQs.
- Timely preparation and submission of client bills.
- Timely certification and collection of project payments.
- Control of project costs within approved budgets.
- Timely identification and submission of variations.
- Accuracy and completeness of project commercial documentation
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
