Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented Scrap Sales Executive to manage the sale and disposal of scrap generated from manufacturing operations. The candidate will be responsible for identifying buyers, conducting negotiations, monitoring market rates, coordinating scrap auctions, and maximizing revenue from scrap disposal while ensuring compliance with company policies. Similar roles typically focus on buyer development, market-price tracking, contract negotiation, and coordination with logistics and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Scrap Sales & Revenue Generation
- Manage the sale of metal scrap, fabrication scrap, sheet metal scrap, aluminum scrap, wooden scrap, packing scrap, and other surplus materials.
- Identify and develop a strong network of scrap buyers, traders, recyclers, and industrial consumers.
- Obtain quotations, negotiate prices, and finalize sales agreements.
- Ensure maximum realization and revenue generation from scrap disposal activities.
- Conduct periodic scrap auctions and bidding processes.
Market Analysis
- Monitor daily and monthly scrap market rates.
- Track industry trends, demand-supply conditions, and competitor pricing.
- Prepare comparative statements and recommend disposal strategies. Market monitoring and pricing analysis are common responsibilities in scrap sales roles.
Coordination & Logistics
- Coordinate with Production, Stores, Security, Finance, and Logistics teams for scrap disposal.
- Ensure timely lifting of scrap material by approved vendors.
- Verify weights, gate passes, invoices, and related documentation.
- Coordinate transportation and dispatch activities with buyers.
Vendor Management
- Develop and maintain relationships with scrap dealers and recycling companies.
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure compliance with company requirements.
- Expand the buyer base to improve competition and pricing.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain records of scrap generation, disposal quantities, and revenue earned.
- Prepare monthly MIS reports and management dashboards.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, environmental, and audit requirements.
- Support internal and external audits related to scrap sales.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap materials.
- Strong negotiation and commercial acumen.
- Experience in industrial scrap trading, recycling, or manufacturing environments.
- Understanding of auction processes and vendor management.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, ERP systems, and MIS reporting.
- Strong communication and relationship management skills.
