Role Description This is a full time, on site role for a New Business Development Manager cum Merchandiser, based in Kolkata. The role involves identifying and developing new business opportunities in domestic and international markets, including prospecting, lead generation, and managing the sales pipeline. The position requires preparing and delivering compelling sales presentations, negotiating terms, and building strong relationships with buyers, distributors, and brand partners. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with design, production, and logistics teams to ensure product samples, pricing, and delivery timelines align with client requirements. The role also includes monitoring market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to refine product assortments, improve merchandising strategies, and support revenue growth and brand positioning.
Qualifications
- Strong New Business Development and Lead Generation skills, with experience identifying and converting prospects into long-term clients.
- Proficiency in Sales and Sales Presentations, including preparing quotations, negotiating contracts, and closing deals in B2B environments.
- Account Management experience, with the ability to maintain, grow, and service key customer accounts effectively.
- Experience or strong interest in merchandising, product assortments, sampling, and coordinating with production teams, preferably in leather goods, fashion, or accessories.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with international and domestic buyers.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities, including pipeline tracking, reporting, and basic use of CRM or sales management tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Ability to work on site in Kolkata, travel for client meetings or trade shows as needed, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
