Junior QA Automation Engineer (1–4 Years Experience)
Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior QA Automation Engineer with 1–4 years of experience in software testing. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in manual testing along with hands-on experience or a strong interest in automation testing. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and QA team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products by designing, executing, and maintaining both manual and automated test cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business and functional requirements to create comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
- Perform manual testing for web and/or mobile applications.
- Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
- Execute functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end testing.
- Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using defect tracking tools.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to resolve quality issues.
- Participate in sprint planning, requirement reviews, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Perform API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Validate backend data using SQL queries where required.
- Maintain test documentation, automation frameworks, execution reports, and defect reports.
- Contribute to improving QA processes, automation coverage, and testing best practices.
- Continuously learn and adopt new automation tools and technologies.
Required Skills
- 1–4 years of experience in Software Testing with exposure to Automation Testing.
- Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Defect Life Cycle.
- Experience in writing clear and effective test cases and test scenarios.
- Hands-on experience with at least one automation tool such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
- Basic programming knowledge in Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience with API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and database testing.
- Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or TestRail.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with automation frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, NUnit, or PyTest.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, or GitLab CI.
- Basic understanding of BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
- Experience testing REST APIs and JSON/XML responses.
- Exposure to performance or security testing is a plus.
Pay: Up to ₹480,000.00 per year
