Job Purpose
To supervise and coordinate DRI plant operations during shifts, ensuring safe, efficient, and continuous production while maintaining quality standards and equipment reliability.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Operations
- Monitor and control DRI process parameters to achieve production targets.
- Ensure smooth operation of rotary kiln, cooler, material handling systems, and associated equipment.
- Coordinate with control room operators and field operators during plant operations.
- Monitor coal, iron ore, dolomite, and other raw material feeding systems.
- Ensure product quality meets specified metallization and carbon content requirements.
Shift Management
- Allocate work to operators and technicians during shifts.
- Maintain shift logs and operational records.
- Report production data, equipment issues, and abnormal conditions to management.
- Conduct shift handovers effectively.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures and permit systems.
- Conduct workplace safety inspections.
- Enforce use of PPE and safe work practices.
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
Equipment Monitoring
- Inspect plant equipment regularly for abnormal conditions.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Follow up on equipment performance and downtime reduction initiatives.
Housekeeping & Environment
- Maintain good housekeeping standards in assigned areas.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and emission norms.
- Monitor dust suppression and waste management practices.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or ITI in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Electrical, or related discipline.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in DRI plant operations.
- Experience in rotary kiln-based DRI plants preferred.
- Knowledge of kiln operation, material handling, and process control.
Skills Required
- Knowledge of DRI process and plant equipment.
- Leadership and team supervision skills.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Knowledge of safety standards and operational procedures.
- Basic computer and reporting skills.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
