Position Overview
The Pre-Primary Coordinator plays a vital leadership role in ensuring the smooth functioning and academic excellence of the Pre-Primary Wing (Nursery to UKG). The Coordinator is responsible for planning, supervising, and monitoring curriculum implementation while mentoring teachers and creating a nurturing, engaging, and child-friendly learning environment. The role involves close collaboration with teachers, parents, and school leadership to ensure the holistic development of every child.
Key Responsibilities1. Curriculum Planning & Implementation
Develop, plan, and oversee the implementation of age-appropriate lesson plans, annual planners, and classroom activities in accordance with the CBSE curriculum guidelines for pre-primary education. Ensure a balanced approach towards cognitive, social, emotional, language, and physical development.
2. Academic Supervision & Technology Integration
Guide and support teachers in preparing lesson plans, assignments, assessment sheets, worksheets, and teaching-learning materials. Ensure effective use of technology in classroom teaching and educational planning.
3. Classroom Observation & Management
Regularly observe classroom teaching to maintain high academic standards. Ensure classrooms are well-organized, child-friendly, safe, and conducive to active learning. Support teachers in maintaining positive classroom management practices and discipline.
4. Child Development & Assessment
Monitor children's overall growth and development through regular assessments and classroom observations. Guide teachers in identifying students requiring additional support and ensure appropriate interventions are implemented.
5. Parent Communication
Maintain strong communication with parents through orientation programmes, parent-teacher meetings, workshops, and regular progress updates. Address parent concerns professionally and foster positive school-home partnerships.
6. Safety & Student Welfare
Ensure that all safety protocols and child protection guidelines are followed across the Pre-Primary Wing. Supervise student well-being, hygiene, health, and overall safety within the school premises.
7. Play-Based Learning
Promote play-based, experiential, and activity-based learning practices that encourage creativity, exploration, problem-solving, communication, and social interaction. Guide teachers in effectively implementing these methodologies.
8. Holistic Development
Promote programmes and activities that nurture children's emotional, social, physical, and moral development. Encourage positive peer relationships, self-confidence, empathy, independence, and life skills.
9. Learning Resources & Environment
Oversee the development and maintenance of educational resources, classroom displays, activity corners, teaching aids, digital resources, and learning materials that enhance children's learning experiences.
10. Teacher Mentoring & Professional Development
Mentor, guide, and support Pre-Primary teachers in enhancing their teaching practices. Organize regular training sessions, classroom observations, feedback meetings, workshops, and professional development programmes to improve instructional quality.
11. Leadership & Collaboration
Work closely with the Principal, school management, teachers, and support staff to ensure smooth functioning of the Pre-Primary Wing. Coordinate school events, celebrations, assessments, orientation programmes, and other academic initiatives. Foster teamwork, innovation, and a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (preferred).
- NTT, Montessori, B.Ed., or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience in Pre-Primary education, with leadership or coordination experience preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of CBSE curriculum guidelines for pre-primary education.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in planning curriculum, conducting assessments, and mentoring teachers.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to use computers, educational software, and digital teaching tools.
- Sound understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- Ability to create an engaging, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Passion for nurturing young learners and supporting teacher growth.
Role Summary
Being a Pre-Primary Coordinator involves leading the academic and operational functioning of the Pre-Primary Wing while ensuring excellence in teaching and learning.
