Role Summary
The Assistant Accounts Manager – GST & Auditing will be responsible for managing GST compliance, statutory filings, audit coordination, financial verification, and internal control monitoring. The role requires deep expertise in taxation laws, audit procedures, and financial accuracy to ensure full regulatory compliance and risk control across business operations.
Key Responsibilities1. GST Compliance & Management
- Ensure accurate preparation and timely filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, GSTR-9C).
- Monitor GST input tax credit (ITC) reconciliation with purchase registers and GSTR-2B.
- Handle GST assessments, notices, and departmental communications.
- Verify GST applicability on transactions and ensure correct tax treatment.
- Maintain GST compliance across branches and business units.
2. Auditing & Financial Verification
- Coordinate statutory, internal, and GST audits.
- Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents.
- Identify financial discrepancies and implement corrective controls.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory regulations.
- Conduct periodic internal audits for process improvement and risk mitigation.
3. Accounts Supervision & Control
- Review ledger scrutiny, journal entries, and financial postings.
- Supervise reconciliation of bank, vendor, and customer accounts.
- Ensure accuracy in revenue recognition and expense booking.
- Monitor compliance with internal financial policies and SOPs.
4. Compliance & Statutory Reporting
- Ensure adherence to Income Tax, TDS, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Assist in financial closing (monthly, quarterly, annual).
- Maintain statutory registers and documentation for audit readiness.
- Support management in financial reporting and compliance reviews.
5. Process Improvement & Risk Management
- Strengthen internal control systems and audit trails.
- Develop SOPs for GST and accounting procedures.
- Identify operational risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure documentation standards are maintained across departments.
6. Team Coordination
- Guide and review work of accounts executives and assistants.
- Provide training on GST compliance and audit procedures.
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and government authorities.
Required Skills & Competencies

- Proficiency in accounting software (Tally / ERP / VTOS / SAP preferred).
- Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills.
Educational Qualification
- CA Inter / CMA Inter / M.Com / B.Com with strong GST specialization.
- Certification in GST or Taxation preferred.
