Job Summary
The Service Engineer will be responsible for installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, breakdown support, troubleshooting, and customer service for painting and dispensing equipment at customer sites across South India. The role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent customer handling skills, and a willingness to travel extensively.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation & Commissioning
- Install and commission industrial painting, coating, sealant dispensing, and fluid handling equipment at customer sites.
- Conduct machine trials and ensure successful equipment handover.
- Verify equipment performance against technical specifications.
Service & Maintenance
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance as per service schedules.
- Attend machine breakdowns and provide timely troubleshooting.
- Diagnose electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical issues.
- Replace defective components and restore equipment to optimum performance.
- Minimize machine downtime through effective root cause analysis.
Customer Support
- Provide prompt on-site technical support.
- Train customer operators and maintenance personnel on machine operation and preventive maintenance.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional service.
- Handle customer complaints and ensure timely resolution.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare service reports after every customer visit.
- Maintain service history and machine maintenance records.
- Coordinate warranty claims and service documentation.
- Submit travel reports, expense statements, and spare parts consumption records.
- Update CRM/ERP or internal service management systems regularly.
Spare Parts & Coordination
- Identify and recommend spare parts required for maintenance.
- Coordinate with stores and service coordinators for spare availability.
- Support Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) and service agreements.
Internal Coordination
- Coordinate with Sales, Applications, Design, Production, and Quality teams for technical solutions.
- Provide technical feedback for product improvements.
- Support machine acceptance trials whenever required.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or related field.
- ITI candidates with relevant industrial service experience may also be considered.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in industrial equipment installation and maintenance.
- Experience in painting equipment, sealant dispensing systems, pumps, fluid handling systems, automation equipment, SPMs, or related industrial machinery is preferred.
- Freshers with strong technical aptitude may be considered for junior positions.
Required Skills
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Basic knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment (preferred).
- Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, service reporting, ERP/CRM).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Travel Requirements
- Willingness to travel extensively across Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and other South Indian states.
- Ability to attend emergency breakdown calls, including weekends or holidays if required.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
