DevOps / Platform Engineer — Phoenix/Assist About the role Phoenix is a modern embedded payments platform built on cloud native infrastructure, containerized microservices, and event driven integrations. We’re looking for a DevOps / Platform Engineer to help build, scale, and operate the platform foundations that enable secure, reliable, and high velocity delivery across engineering teams. What you’ll do Cloud Platform & Infrastructure • Build and maintain Phoenix’s cloud environment running on AWS, including networking, compute, security, and IAM. • Support multi environment workflows (DEV TEST STAGE CERT PROD). • Ensure scalability, reliability, and alignment with compliance/security best practices. Container Platform & Kubernetes • Operate and enhance the platform’s EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) clusters hosting Phoenix microservices. • Define standards for container builds, deployments, runtime configuration, and workload reliability. CI/CD & Automation • Maintain and evolve automated build and deployment pipelines. • Improve developer productivity through tooling, automation, and pipeline optimization. • ance insights. Security & Identity • Apply platform wide security practices: encryption, boundaries, secrets management, identity, and authorization. • Support Phoenix’s authentication/authorization stack Reliability & Compliance • Contribute to high availability and DR design, including Phoenix’s multi region AWS strategy and failover patterns. • Ensure alignment with PCI DSS and platform security expectations Tech Stack You’ll Work With Cloud & Platform • AWS (EKS, Aurora, S3, Elasticache/Valkey) Containers / Orchestration • Docker • Kubernetes on EKS
