Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Design Engineer to create innovative and efficient product designs using CAD software. The candidate should have experience in 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and engineering drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design software.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD.
- Develop 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks or other CAD software.
- Create manufacturing drawings with GD&T and tolerance specifications.
- Modify existing designs based on customer or production requirements.
- Generate Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Coordinate with production, quality, and project teams.
- Ensure designs comply with engineering standards and customer specifications.
- Perform design calculations and feasibility studies.
- Maintain design documentation and revision history.
- Support prototype development and product improvements.
- Assist in resolving design-related manufacturing issues.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Experience in SolidWorks (Part, Assembly, Sheet Metal, Weldments).
- Knowledge of CAD software such as Creo, CATIA, Siemens NX, or Inventor is an added advantage.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and drafting standards.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Experience in BOM preparation.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, casting, and sheet metal.
- Basic knowledge of material selection.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
