Job Title: Research & Writing Intern – Book Project
Location: Whitefield, Bengaluru
Job Type: Internship | On-site
Duration: 3–6 months
About the Role
We are looking for a curious, creative and strong-writing intern to work closely with the founder on an upcoming book project.
This is not a conventional research internship. The role involves deep research, reading, idea exploration, interviewing, structuring content and storytelling—with the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a book from concept to manuscript.
The ideal candidate is someone who genuinely enjoys writing, has a natural flair for storytelling, and can turn research and ideas into content that is interesting, engaging and easy to read.
What You Will Do
- Conduct in-depth research on topics relevant to the book.
- Read books, articles, studies, interviews and other credible sources and extract meaningful insights.
- Convert research into well-structured notes, stories, examples and content.
- Help develop the chapters, flow, narrative and overall structure of the book.
- Write and edit drafts in a clear, engaging and reader-friendly style.
- Identify interesting stories, real-life examples, anecdotes and perspectives that can strengthen the book.
- Work closely with the founder to develop and refine ideas.
- Use AI tools effectively for research, brainstorming, organisation and writing assistance—while maintaining originality and human storytelling.
- Fact-check information and maintain research references.
What We Are Looking For
- Excellent written English and a genuine flair for writing.
- Strong storytelling ability—the ability to make an idea interesting, relatable and memorable.
- Curiosity and an eagerness to explore subjects deeply.
- Good research and analytical skills.
- Ability to read extensively and synthesise information.
- Strong command of grammar, vocabulary and sentence construction.
- Someone who can write with a voice, rather than simply produce grammatically correct content.
- Comfortable working independently as well as taking feedback and rewriting.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or similar tools is an advantage.
VERY IMPORTANT – Show Us Your Writing
Please do not apply without sharing samples of your writing.
We would particularly like to see examples that demonstrate your storytelling ability, writing style and ability to make a subject engaging.
You may share:
- A short story
- An article/blog
- Creative writing
- A college publication
- A previously written piece
- Any other work that best represents your writing and storytelling ability
Your writing sample is more important to us than a lengthy résumé.
Who Should Apply?
This opportunity could be ideal for:
- Students or recent graduates in English, Journalism, Mass Communication, Literature, Psychology, Liberal Arts or related fields.
- Aspiring writers who want hands-on experience in book writing.
- Someone who dreams of becoming an author, content writer, journalist or storyteller.
- A curious mind who loves reading, researching, writing and asking “why?”
What You Will Gain
- Hands-on experience in developing and writing a book.
- Direct exposure to the book-writing and publishing process.
- Opportunity to work closely with the founder and contribute to the manuscript.
- Experience in research, storytelling, editing and content development.
- A strong portfolio piece and valuable writing experience.
